(Al) Fering, SPHR, FLMI
Al is President of Iowa Career Connection, LLC. His career includes 20 years in corporate human resources management (from internal recruiter to VP, Human Resources with major insurance companies in Des Moines) prior to founding Iowa Career Connection in January, 2000. He specializes in sourcing mid to senior level HR talent in financial services, manufacturing, technology and other industries. He has achieved the designations of Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and Fellow Life Management Institute (FLMI). He completed the Executive Development Program through the Life Office Management Association and is certified in Behavioral Interviewing and Mediation. He is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of St. Olaf College, a veteran of the US Army and has lived in Des Moines since 1975. He has been married to Martha for 41 years and has two children, Chris and Erica. Chris is a student in Seattle, WA and Erica lives and works in Iowa City. Al received the Governor’s Volunteer Award in 2009 for his work in providing career transition counseling to veterans through Iowa Workforce Development.

Miles
Morrow, CPC
2012 marks the 27th year in the Staffing Industry for Miles. He has specialized in sourcing mid to executive level talent in accounting, auditing, financial reporting, and tax his entire tenure in the profession. Miles’ client base is located throughout Iowa and the contiguous states and the industries he consults for include green energy, healthcare, insurance, manufacturing, and public accounting. Miles is a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park, and is a Certified Personnel Consultant (CPC). He has lived in Ames, Iowa since 1985 and has been married to Dr. Paula Morrow, Iowa State University, for 39 years. His daughter is a May 2005 Iowa State business major who is a human resource generalist for a Microsoft Cloud computing firm in Austin, Texas. Miles’s son John is a 2003 University of Iowa graduate and has his PhD from University of Wisconsin, Madison. John and his wife are currently at the London School of Economics. His spouse is a faculty member and John is currently engaged in a 2 year research project. |
